Fabrication
All stone fabrication gets done locally in our Union Bay workshop. This gives all our clients the opportunity to be involved with their countertops from the get-go. At North Island Granite we give our clients the option to be as connected to the fabrication procedure as they choose to be.
Some clients prefer to be hands-off, only picking and approving colours. Others prefer to be more involved. We cater to the whole spectrum and tailor each job to the requirements of the consumer.
From slab selection to final installation, our clients can rest assured that only the best care will be taken with their stone. The process can be divided into the following steps:
- Quote - The first time you deal with us, will be for a quote. We will discuss material choice, edge detail and options during this meeting. Clients also have the opportunity to select materials directly from our slab suppliers in Vancouver.
- Material Approval - Once your material is selected and delivered to our shop, our clients can come to inspect them.
- Templating - When your cabinets are ready, we will schedule an appointment to come to your house and make a template.
- Lay-out - Your templates will be placed on your slabs. You have the opportunity now to select areas you are partial to for inclusion in your counter tops.
- Fabrication - your tops will now be cut and polished as was determined during templating.
- Installation - For most average kitchens we take 3 to 4 hours to install. Plumbing and gas could be connected the following day.
